Pacifika 2007
The purpose of Pacifika is to call this generation to know God in a radical way and encourage Christian youth to make God known in our region. Our vision is based on the declaration the explorer DeQuiros made in 1604, on Pentecost Island, Vanuatu, that the gospel be freely preached in the lands to the south, the southlands of the Holy Spirit. All the team members have been involved in missions in our region using performing arts, help projects and discipleship programs to share the gospel. Over the last few years, young people from local churches in Australia, and Vanuatu have joined King’s Kids Southlands Teams. They have built water ta27-Aug-2008d fundraising to send 400 bibles to young Christians in Vanuatu, and raised finances to send needy Vanuatu children to school. They have performed at the Sydney Olympic Games the South Pacific Games in Fiji, the Americas Cup in New Zealand, the DeQuiros celebration in Vanuatu and the Global Day of Prayer gathering at Uluru (Australia). They have lead many young people in Australia, NZ, Fiji and Vanuatu to the Lord. The members of the team are all young, many stretched outside their comfort zones, all trusting God to provide, all making a difference in the world they live in and radical about relationship with our God. Their challenge to their peers is to commit to making a difference in the world they live in.
