It all started at the Scripture Union campsite in Pango Village, Vanuatu.  We had over 100 people (including staff and campers) representing 12 different nations. Our theme for the camp was "Alive in God" and we looked forward to what God was going to do over the next 3 weeks.

To break in all the new staff we had them build an outdoor meeting room from coconut tree leaves and branches. This shelter was great for the first two days but soon became inadequate when the rain came and came and came! Just as it picked up on Wednesday the Australian High Commission bought us a meeting tent! We had asked for it a few weeks ago but had not heard back from them. We thought we were out of luck but we were just reminded that God is bigger than luck!

There was some awesome teaching on Father God Tuesday night from Daniel. Daniel is currently leading the School of Evangelism from YWAM Perth in Australia. He and his wife brought a team of 13 plus his baby Samuel. Over the last few days, the SOE staff and students have been leading Life Groups. Teachings have been on Identity in God, Hearing God's Voice, and Overcoming Temptation.

The middle of each day revolves around learning and creating new things. The kids have been participating in camp workshops over the last two days that include singing and worship, arts and crafts, drama, puppets, dance, and brick making! They have been hopping around each day between their varying interests and are really enjoying the different workshops! These activities will be provided for the rest of the week with the hope that the kids will grow and learn to express themselves and their love for God in different ways.

-Shirley from Paama Island has been involved in the dance workshop- "It was fun, I've never done anything like this before!"

-Gabe from Brazil also enjoyed his workshop- "During the workshops today I got to learn a little about art with Francesco, he was teaching us how to incorporate someone's personality in the drawing of them. Vanuatu has been great I love the place and the people here. Lukim yu!"

Prayer request: We have a spiritual life team here on campus that is in charge of overseeing the student and staffs spiritual growth. They have asked if you would please take time to pray for us. Some areas that we need prayer in are:

  • The health of the students and staff
  • Finances
  • Unity
  • Covering over the group
  • Most of all please pray that each and every person will receive everything God has for them while they are here.
  • Administration of the outreach teams ie. travel & accom etc.
Praise Reports: We have already had amazing things happen that really show Gods glory! Some of our praise reports are:
  • 4 young people gave their lives to God today (3 Jan)
  • The tent from the Australian High Commission
  • Justin from Perth had a concussion with pain in his head and ears and memory loss! He was prayed for today and was completely healed with a sharp mind again!
  • Howe had pain and infection in his ears and throat, he too was prayed for by some of the guys here and was totally healed right on the spot! Jeffery woke up the morning feeling like he had laryngitis. He had no voice and after prayer the Lord once again showed his power and now Jeff is singing praise to Him!
